Shoppers ‘narrowly escaped injury’ on Wednesday afternoon as a car crashed into Boots in Seaford.
At 2.20pm a blue Honda Jazz crashed into the shop front on Broad Street. Eyewitness Shona Croft, 54, from Seaford said: “It was the most bizarre thing. A car had driven right into the doorway of Boots, the car was all mangled at the front.”
The Pilates teacher said people were taking photos and ‘quite a crowd’ was surrounding the car. “A shopkeeper from across the road came out and told me that the same thing happened a couple of years ago,” said Mrs Croft. “It was shocking really, prams and people are always going in and out of Boots. It was so lucky that no one was hurt.”
The driver is thought to be an elderly man who did not appear to have been hurt in the crash.
