Seaford Town Council is pleased to announce that work on the exciting new skatepark is progressing to schedule and the project is on track to be completed on time at the end of July. Thanks goes to the contractor, Canvas, for maintaining the momentum on this significant assignment.

It will be wonderful to see skaters and riders of all ages and abilities trying out the facility during August – be sure to look out for information about an official Skate Jam opening event on the Council’s website and Facebook page. Take the opportunity to come along and showcase your skills!

Great news too on the floodlight front.  Planning permission has been granted for four floodlights which will be installed in September, opening up the possibility for longer skating hours all year round.

The development of the new skatepark helps to meet one of the Council’s five long-term strategic objectives for the town: To improve and maintain the recreational facilities. It is hoped it will bring great pleasure and prove an invaluable addition to The Salts.

A skatepark spokesperson added, ‘This skatepark is paid for from Section 106 funds, a generous donation from the NPS Lions and a grant from Sport England. The whole project has therefore been made possible at no cost to the taxpayer thanks to the diligent work of Seaford Town Council officers.’
