A glorious sunny, autumn afternoon was the scene for friends and competitors of this year’s Newhaven in Bloom Awards ceremony at Paradise Park which sponsors the event.

Fine flowers, pots and water displays were all celebrated. Highlights were the glorious ‘living wall’ of flowers called ‘Summer Madness’, created by the gardeners of Ellis Gordon Court and delightful front and back garden displays.

Also presented was a beautiful glass trophy donated by Katie Gray and Nicky in honour of their grandma, Violet Tully (an avid and enthusiastic gardener and Newhaven in Bloom competitor over many years), for the best pots and container display, which was also scooped up by Ellis Gordon Court.

David Fitton MBE kindly presented the awards,  and as a founder member of Newhaven in Bloom from its inception in 1993 stated that he hoped the competition would go on into the future years providing pleasure and fun for all participants.

If you would like to enter, please look out forms in the council magazine or pop into Paradise Park in the New Year. Congratulations to all the winners and competitors.
