Lewes Council Planning Department have approved the plans put forward to build 183 homes on the old school site in Seaford.
It appears that permission has been give to demolish the old school building but to leave an open park space. Twenty one new flats will be built on the school building site.
Provision has also been made for an off site playing field and plans to develop a football academy.
There remain still concerns about the amount of affordable housing which will be only twenty-five per cent instead of the original forty per cent.
Despite any misgiving expressed at the meeting the application was passed unanimously.
