Planning applications
The councils continue to receive and process all planning applications.
From week commencing 11 May they will reinstate full public consultation and engagement on all valid applications. This will enable them in the fullness of time, to continue to determine applications including those received since the shutdown was introduced on 23 March.
They will undertake site visits where it is deemed to be necessary and safe to do so.
Building Control
The building control staff are undertaking site visits on all live cases where it is safe to do so.
Planning Enforcement
All current enforcement cases are being processed. Any new cases will be triaged and site visits undertaken where it is deemed necessary and safe to do so.
Planning Committee
Over the last couple of months and following government advice, planning committees have been cancelled or postponed with only a few cases being determined using emergency powers.
Going forward, Lewes district planning applications committee will sit in a virtual capacity. Lewes district council are currently evaluating the logistics and mechanics of this with the ambition of going live in the coming weeks.
