Rescue at Seaford Head

Just in case you saw some activity on Seaford Head over the week-end with the emergency services in attendance it was all to do with a person who was found to be cut off from safety when the tide came in.

Passers by called the Coast Guard who attended and winched the unfortunate person to safety. This kind of operation is not without risk to the emergency services especially as an operative had to be winched down in protective clothing and face coverings, which had to also be given to the rescued person. A happy ending ensued with both person rescued and guitar were brought to safety.

A reminder was given to the rescued person about tidal conditions and the dangers of the sea.

It should serve as a lesson to all to respect the forces of nature, especially so in these difficult times.
