The Business Hothouse offers free support to start-ups and established businesses in the Coast-to-Capital area including the Lewes District.
The programme is run by a consortium of expert delivery partners and is funded through the European Regional Development Fund and Local Authorities in the Coast-to-Capital area.
What support is on offer:Networking – Business knowledge networking with ‘hot topics’ for discussion at every meeting
.Commercialisation innovation – Delivered by The Sussex Innovation Centre, workshops and mentoring for businesses who intend to create growth through researching, developing, selling or using an innovate idea, product, service or process.
Developing leaders and managers A series of conference-style events, delivered by the University of Chichester, for businesses to learn a range of management techniques and leadership skills.The LEAP Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme, delivered by Edeal, with workshops, mentoring, action planning and a chance to win £1,000.
Finance and funding Run by YTKO and WSX Enterprise, workshops and follow up support sessions to help businesses understand how to access funding and write and submit funding applications.Grant funding through the Invest4 programme ranging from £2,000 to £170,000 for up to 40% of the cost of a project, subject to criteria. Brighton & Hove City Council is managing the scheme.
Start-upRun by The University of Chichester, a series of twelve one-hour daily workshops covering the knowledge needed to get a business idea going.The popular LEAP Entrepreneur Programme, delivered by Edeal, with workshops and mentoring support in developing a business plan and a chance of winning a cash prize of £2,500. Start-ups and existing businesses can also tap into their Specialist Business Coaching service.
Perfecting productivity and going for growth – Delivered by The Sussex Innovation Centre, workshops aimed at SME’s and start-ups on understanding and designing growth plans.
Until the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, all boot camps, workshops and mentoring sessions will be held remotely.
