Maria Caulfield is taking notice of how her constituents feel about the TV license:-
“My post bag is full of people, young and old, who feel that the BBC licence fee is no longer working for them.
Many complain that they pay for other subscription services such as Netflix and Sky and want to be able to pick and choose what they watch , rather than a mandatory TV licence. Some tell me they no longer watch TV at all and just watch internet channels like You Tube and are having to pay for something they do not use , just because they have a TV set.
The Government is going to be looking at this in the coming weeks , with a review of the licence itself but also decriminalising non payment so that people can no longer be prosecuted for non payment.”
