Newhaven MP Maria Caulfield has visited local businesses as part of Small Business Saturday.
Maria Caulfield MP visited the new SurfnSkate café at Newhaven Football Club, which has been opened by the owners of the popular SurfnSkate shop on West Quay. The local MP then went on to visit Paradise Park in Newhaven.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.
Maria Caulfield MP said “It is always important to support small local businesses, but more so this year as many have been hit by the necessary Covid19 restrictions. These small businesses are owned by our neighbours, friends and family and the money we spend in them goes into our wider local communities.
This Small Business Saturday I was pleased to visit these two great retailers in Newhaven and to encourage everyone to shop small and shop local this Christmas.”
