Drink/drug drive patrols and stops

This week, and in the lead up to Christmas, additional stop checks are being carried out across the district by officer, checking for motorists that are driving whilst under the influence, of alcohol or drugs.

Already this week there have been two arrests for drink/drug driving.

One for driving with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit in Seaford, and another for failling to provide a sample to officers at a road side test in Newhaven.

If you know someone is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs, call 999.

Alternatively, people in Sussex can text police on 65999 with the details of people they suspect of drink or drug-driving, or visit the Operation Crackdown website.

You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it online.
