In addition to the brightly painted West View beach huts, Seaford’s promenade now has the addition of a colourful Rainbow Pad, also located close to Frankie’s Beach Café.
The Rainbow Pad is an exercise and play space for children (and adults …) situated on what was once the top of some stairs leading down to the beach. It was the brainchild of local resident and musician Chris Conil, who was also responsible for most of the planning and creation of the space.
The Pad was officially opened last month by Seaford’s new Mayor, Councillor Nazish Adil, who certainly entered into the spirit of the event by practicing her hopscotch skills! Chris also brought his band along to liven up the proceedings, much appreciated by those who attended and passers-by.
Seaford Town Council was delighted to work with the Seaford Gateway Group on this project to further enhance our unique seafront in line with the Seafront Development Plan.
The Gateway Group is a committee of Seaford residents who strive to enrich the seafront for the benefit of local people and visitors. Allied with the Seaford Community Partnership and with the help and support of Seaford Town council, this grouping has so far given us The Shoal, the Outdoor Gym and the Beach Garden.
