Traffic was banished from Lewes High Street last Thursday for the annual Late Night Shopping Event. Hundreds of local people and visitors to the town took advantage of the unique variety of independent shops while being entertained by choirs, bands and musical groups.
A childrens’ lit-up ‘Fireflies’ costume competition supported by Visit Lewes began the evening, and the whole event was hailed as the best for many years.
A spokesperson for the organisers of the evening, Lewes High Street Traders’ Association, said: “We were delighted with the response to this year’s event, and everyone can expect a warm welcome from all our members in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Lewes has so much to offer.”
