Coastal Defence Repairs at Splash Point

The Town Council is pleased to report that repair work at Splash Point has started.

Unfortunately, in February, Splash Point was so badly storm damaged that it had to be shut off from the public.

The Town Council is pleased to announce that it has agreed to jointly fund, with Lewes District Council and the Environment Agency, repair work to this much-loved and iconic seafront feature.

Works has commenced and it is hoped that it should be completed by end of October, it will however be weather and tide dependent.

The works will require plant and machinery on the promenade so for the interest of public safety, and to ensure that the works can be completed as quickly as possible, we ask that people stay away from plant and machinery. The work is being undertaken by CJ Thornes on weekdays, between 7am and 7pm.

ACovid 19 focussed Risk Assessment has been carried out, which can be found here and all necessary environmental consents have been obtained.

Members of the public will be kept up to date as the project progresses and on when Splash Point will be fit to reopen.
