Edeal is funded by Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils to provide free business support and advice to local residents and businesses.
Business start-up workshop The free Business Start-up Workshop at The View Hotel in Eastbourne on Monday 16 November from 10am to 4pm will guide you through the start-up process whilst making you think about your vision and values and what motivates you to succeed. Series of free bite size webinars– Based on the popular Business Start-up Workshops, this free programme is designed for anyone who has an enterprising idea and wants to start their own business.
The content may also be valuable for local businesses and community enterprises to develop specific areas of their organisations. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and to interact with other local entrepreneurs and businesses to help build your professional network.
Session 1: Motivation, vision, and values – Monday 9 November at 10.30am (75 minutes)Delivered by Vanessa Peters, an experienced business coach, mentor, and change manager, you will learn what it means to be a business owner and have the opportunity to explore what you want to achieve. This session is strongly recommended for anyone considering starting-up their own business.
Session 2: Market research & business planning – Monday 23 November at 10.30am (90 minutes)
Delivered by Vanessa Peters, you will get to understand your market and competition and the core areas you need to consider when setting-up and running a business. This session is strongly recommended for anyone considering starting-up their own business.
Session 3: Commercial contracts and what you need to know – Thursday 3 December at 10.30am (90 minutes)
Delivered by Carol Hill, a qualified solicitor, you will learn why you need contracts, the different types of contracts, the key elements of a contract e.g. GDPR and how to handle contract disputes.
Session 4: Marketing in the current climate – Tuesday 8 December at 11am (60 minutes)
Delivered by Emma Pearce, an experienced traditional and digital marketer, you will hear her top marketing tips and an overview of the different marketing activities to help you design a marketing plan for your business.
Session 5: LinkedIn for business – Wednesday 16 December at 2pm (60 minutes)
Delivered by Mina O’Brien, business owner of award-winning social media marketing and training consultancy Ditzy Media, you will learn how to set-up a personal and company profile and gain insider tips on how to grow your network and what content to post. Subject to demand, further bite size sessions can be organised on branding and image, GDPR, contract disputes, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
