76% of shopworkers say that incidents of violence, threats and abuse have been worse during COVID-19. That’s why Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner ( PCC ) Katy Bourne is running a national campaign 1st – 8th December all about #KeepingChristmasKind and encouraging people to consider their interactions with shopworkers this festive season.
The moving campaign includes a film featuring real people who have put themselves at risk working in essential shops, keeping families fed and providing vital human interaction at this particularly lonely time. They have faced abuse just for doing their jobs and their families have now spoken out.
Please watch the film and show your support for the campaign by sharing the #KeepingChristmasKind messages found on @SussexPCC (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
We’d also love you to share your stories about a Shopworker Superhero who’s put a smile on your face this year. Say a special thank you on your social media channels tagging @SussexPCC and using #KeepingChristmasKind.
The PCC will be tracking these throughout the week and making sure all Shopworker Superheroes are given the recognition they deserve.
