Vaccine Roll Out Update

We are all now in Tier 4 so please look at Government advice, take heed and be sensible because the virus is escalating at the moment.

But all is looking better with a vaccine now being rolled out.

Here is some information regarding how this will happen provided by local government.

The Sussex the COVID-19 vaccination programme went live on 08 December 2020 at the Royal Sussex County Hospital – the first hospital hub for our region. The hospital teams have been vaccinating people over the age of 80 who are coming to the hospital as an inpatient or outpatient, hospital staff and staff from care homes in the area. Latest figures show it is one of the highest performing vaccination hospital hubs in the country.

Following this, the first GP led vaccination services then went live in Sussex on Tuesday 15 December. Nine sites supported by 26 GP practices in the region started to vaccinate their patients who are over the age of 80.

A further two GP led vaccination services are now live in Eastbourne – one in Princes Park and one at Hampden Park. These vaccinations will take place for their registered patients over the age of 80 and will cover the Seaford and Polegate areas of the constituency too.

There are sites in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex, and a full list of the sites which have gone live can be found here:

The GP-led vaccination services are a phased process and more sites will be going live over the coming weeks including – in Haywards Heath from Tuesday, 29 December.

Please do not contact your GP about your appointment as you will be contacted by the vaccinations teams and it is important that you attend your appointment as with the -70 conditions , once defrosted the vaccine has to be given straight away.
