Regular Seahaven FM listeners may have noticed something missing on a Thursday night.
When The Whole Nine Yards was first broadcast on the fourth of November 2011, Roy never envisaged that the show would still be running nearly ten years later.
After 649 shows , the longest continuously running local radio show in Sussex, is moving to Burgess Hill Community Radio, and on Sunday thirty first of January from 3-5pm. show number 650, the first of many more Whole Nine Yards was broadcast from that station.
As a Burgess Hill resident, it made sense to move the show to Church Walk in Burgess Hill where he already hosts the popular Lost Immortals show which follows The Whole Nine Yards at 5pm. Both available live on line.
The main format of the show is that members of the Local community or other well known names join Roy in the studio to discuss their favourite music and other related topics over two hours.
Guests have included Dennis Healy in 2014 as pictured with Roy Stannard in the Seahaven FM studios. Another guest was Mike Kerr, the guitar and vocals frontman for Royal Blood as their debut album entered the charts at number one. This duo formed in Brighton in 2011, consisting of Mike Kerr (vocals, bass) and Ben Thatcher (drums). Kerr’s unique bass playing technique, uses various effects pedals to make his electric bass sound like a standard electric guitar.
We owe a great vote of thanks to Roy for bringing us so many hours of a great variety of music and personalities over the years here at Seahaven FM.
Over 400 individual guests have subsequently been on the show which can all be heard on Roy’s Mixcloud site if you would like to catch up with any of the shows, many of which feature music never normally heard on radio.
