Annecy press release

A very proud Annecy School Seaford has asked to share this good news:-

“Annecy Catholic Primary School is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a Local School Nature Grant, thanks to players of the People’s Postcode Lottery. Our pupils will be benefitting from two catapults, a Get Growing Kit, two gardening kits and books on how to support learning outside the classroom which will be used to develop our wonderful outdoor provision from Reception through to Year 6.
In addition, staff will receive training on “How to bring gardening into your school curriculum”. Pupils played an important role in applying for the grant and selected equipment that they felt would benefit their peers. Valentina and Grace, both aged 8, said, “We feel really excited because this will be useful”. Valentina added, “We can use the catapult to measure how far things go…” “…and the gardening items will help the bugs because they can nibble on the plants!” Concluded Grace.
Mr Gallagher, Headteacher, said, “I am so proud of our school family. The children are so passionate about making a positive change to their environment and take an active role in promoting climate action. This grant will enable us to move things on further.”
The project is run by Learning through Landscapes and funded by People’s Postcode Lottery, Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, Postcode Places Trust, Postcode Society Trust, Postcode Local Trust or Postcode Community Trust all of which receives funding from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
We would also like to thank Dinah and Margery from On The Verge (https://www.seafuture.org/on-the-verge/) for their guidance and support in developing our outside space and helping clarify ideas for our application.”
