Alex Polizzi, best known as hotelier and Hotel Inspector has opened a hotel in Alfriston in conjunction with her mother Olga.
The sixteenth century building was acquired in 2019 and has been fully restored despite the covid setbacks.
The hotel has thirty bedrooms and an all day restaurant, which is currently only open to residents.
“I’ve just opened this hotel in East Sussex with my mum. We’ve got people who are desperate to come and stay and a village who have put up with us building on and off for a year and a half.
“My hands are tied a little bit in terms of how many people I can have in the building and you’re never sure if you should take bookings or not, from non-residents for example.”
Olga said: –
“My home is in this part of the world and I’ve always longed for the opportunity to open a hotel in Sussex.
“When The Star Inn came on the market, Alex and I were immediately interested in the project.
“We want it to be an integral part of the community and provide a welcoming environment for all, from walkers to opera-goers.”
