|:||Just a reminder further to our original post in May Pevensey and Pevensey Bay mark Armed Forces Day on 26 June 2021 with vehicle displays, village market, live music and remembrance.|
An event is being organised for Armed Forces Day in Pevensey Bay in association with Pevensey Parish council.
Seahaven FM will be at Pevensey Castle on Saturday between 10.00am and 3.00pm.
Military Vehicles will be on show over the weekend which will involve a beach display on Sunday the 27th June.
In the region of 30 ex military vehicles are expected to attend and participants will be camping in Pevensey Bay.
The name for it is ” The Build Up” reflecting the movement of troops into the southern coastal
areas prior to D Day.
The event was planned for May but Covid restrictions forced the event to move to June 24 through to the 27th which coincides with Armed Forces day in Pevensey Bay, a lovely backwater on our coast.
The Invicta military vehicle Preservation Society, organising the event, has been running for over 40 years.
The members purchase, restore and maintain these classic vehicles. From a push bike to a Sherman Tank. Old Bedford to a Dragon Wagon our members have them.
The club was instrumental in providing the vehicles for the Queens Jubilee along the Mall a few years ago .
With a track record like that, it is certainly going to be an event not to miss, so well worth a trip to Pevensey Bay
in late June, and gives plenty of time to find that vintage outfit to get into the spirit – all we need now is a big band!
It starts today June 26th around the Pevensey Castle Area from 10.00am until around 2.00pm.
